Trump hosts Albanese at White House | ABC NEWS
US President Donald Trump has hosted Prime Minister Anthony Albanese at the White House.
The pair signed an $8.5 billion critical minerals deal, as the US leader affirmed support for the AUKUS defence agreement and heaped praise on Australians.
The Trump administration’s senior officials including Vice-President JD Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and Navy Secretary John Phelan were also present.
The US head of state also took aim at Australian Ambassador to the US Kevin Rudd during the open meeting.
National affairs correspondent Jane Norman says the talks were ‘extremely friendly’ and ‘could not have gone better’ for Mr Albanese.
