Trump floats ‘Board of Peace’ to replace UN in geopolitical power move
President Donald Trump has proposed that his new “Board of Peace” in Gaza could replace the United Nations.
The body is aimed at resolving global conflicts as well as overseeing governance and reconstruction in Gaza.
The Trump administration has moved forward with plans for the board, extending beyond the immediate conflict in Gaza.
The White House has reached out to figures around the world to sit on the board of peace.
Trump’s special envoy Steve Witkoff said he believes the proposal has “overwhelming support.”
