Trump brutally threatens European Union to fulfill trade deal or face increased tariffs
US President Donald Trump has increased pressure on the European Union to “fulfil” its trade deal or face higher tariffs.
On Thursday, President Trump posted to Truth Social, saying his call with European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen was “great”.
Trump revealed the pair spoke about Iran never having access to a nuclear weapon and the EU-US trade deal agreed to last year.
Last Friday, Trump threatened to increase tariffs on EU-made vehicles to 25 per cent from 15 per cent, which was set to take place this week.
Following the successful meeting between Trump and Leyen, the US president agreed to move the increase date to July 4 to allow extra time for negotiations.
