Trump awarded FIFA’s inaugural peace prize: ‘One of the great honours of my life’
ICYMI: US President Donald Trump was awarded FIFA’s inaugural peace prize at the 2026 World Cup draw ceremony by FIFA chief Gianni Infantino.
Trump, who has previously publicly campaigned for the Nobel Peace Prize, citing his involvement in ending multiple conflicts abroad, was given the newly created prize as well as a medal and a certificate.
He took a moment to congratulate himself during his acceptance speech, saying the US was “not doing too well” before he took office, but now it is “the hottest country anywhere in the world”.
