Trump attacks Pope Leo over anti-war message


US President Donald Trump has launched attacks on Pope Leo XIV, saying he is not a “big fan” after the pontiff’s ongoing criticism of US foreign and immigration policies, as well as ongoing conflicts in the Middle East.

Trump accused Pope Leo of being “weak on Crime and terrible for Foreign Policy” in a lengthy post on Truth Social.

Speaking to reporters, Trump said: “I’m not OK with Pope Leo, he’s a very liberal person, and he’s a man that doesn’t believe in stopping crime.”

On Saturday, the head of the Roman Catholic Church implored world leaders to end global conflict, saying: “Enough of the idolatry of self and money! Enough of the display of power! Enough of war!”
