Kazem Hamad, the alleged mastermind behind Melbourne’s tobacco turf war, has been arrested in Iraq. A convenience store in Sunshine West was firebombed less than 24 hours after news of his arrest broke, raising concerns the violence will continue despite his capture. Australian authorities are now focusing on identifying and prosecuting Hamad’s associates in the $10 billion illegal tobacco and vaping market.
