Thousands protest Netanyahu’s UN speech
Thousands gathered on the streets surrounding the United Nations headquarters in New York City to protest Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin
Netanyahu’s address to the UN General Assembly.
Some of those who gathered included prominent Jewish groups and orthodox religious movements who reject Netanyahu’s claims to speak for all Jewish people.
”He’s using our religion, our identity, to justify all these crimes,” said Rabbi Yitzchok Deutsch, who was attending one of the marches.
Before the address, the Israeli government paid for 500 pro-Israel billboards across Manhattan claiming “freedom doesn’t defend itself”.
