The fight over Melbourne’s public housing towers
A legal fight over the Victorian government’s plan to demolish and redevelop Melbourne’s 44 public housing towers has reached Australia’s High Court.
Residents are challenging the way the decision was made, arguing they should have been consulted before the decision.
The redevelopment has also drawn international scrutiny, with the United Nations special rapporteur raising concerns with Australia over the program.
