The blow-up cinema bringing films to Timor-Leste villages | The Pacific | ABC NEWS
In remote villages across Timor-Leste, an inflatable travelling cinema is bringing the big screen to communities that have never had one, thanks to the Sun Theatre in Melbourne’s west.
For over 10 years the blow-up screen has played films dubbed into the local Tetum language and this year used the screens to put Timor’s LGBTQIA+ community in the spotlight as part of the Dili International Film Festival.
‘The Pacific’ is hosted by Johnson Raela and Alice Lolohea.
