Taylor calls for Chalmers to be sacked as PM attempts to save face over ATO fiasco
Prime Minister Anthony Albanese says he and Treasurer Jim Chalmers unanimously agreed for the ATO to extend the period in which it paused banning credit card payments.
“The treasurer and myself completely agreed in a way that was consistent in the way we do good government,” Mr Albanese said during Question Time on Wednesday.
“Having a discussion between ministers and then convening appropriate forums, in this case, the Expenditure Review Committee … and then making public the announcement which the Treasurer did.”
