Taco Bell lettuce linked to parasite in the US
Fast food chain Taco Bell says it will stop using lettuce from a supplier in Mexico after it was linked to a cyclosporiasis outbreak.
This comes as US federal health officials investigate more than 16,000 illnesses across five states.
They’ve identified lettuce as a source of the widespread outbreak of the parasite causing diarrhea.
The CDC confirmed the source and warned consumers not to eat shredded lettuce from Taco Bell restaurants across five states in the Midwest where the contaminated lettuce has reportedly been served.
