Sydney beaches have received their annual water quality report card, with Coogee Beach ranked as the city’s worst ocean beach for contamination due to stormwater discharge. Avalon Beach has taken the top spot for cleanest water, while harbour locations like Gymea Bay and Foreshores Beach at Botany Bay recorded the poorest results. Overall water quality across NSW beaches has improved compared to last year, largely due to drier weather conditions.
