Sydney rallies to go ahead despite protest ban
Activists in Sydney are forging ahead with plans to rally tonight and across the weekend, despite a citywide ban on protests.
Police confirm officers on patrol will be carrying long-arm rifles.
The protest ban has already been extended once, with NSW Police Commissioner Mal Lanyon to decide next week whether it will be extended again.
