A suspicious fire at a home in Caulfield North, Melbourne, is under investigation by detectives after two cars and part of the residence were torched around midnight. A family was evacuated safely from the property, which had a private security guard on patrol after receiving warnings of a potential firebombing attack. Police believe the incident has links to organised crime but is not connected to the recent wave of over 20 targeted attacks, drive-by shootings and firebombings related to ongoing alcohol and pub wars in Melbourne.
