Tunnel boring has commenced on Victoria’s Suburban Rail Loop East project from Cheltenham to Box Hill, with Premier Ben Carroll claiming $1 billion in savings despite the Auditor-General’s warning of budget blowouts on the $37 billion project originally costed in 2020.
