This is the moment a stray tabby cat causes chaos at a veterinary clinic, sending stunned staff scrambling as it launches a frantic bid for freedom before a routine sterilisation.
Footage shows the carrier containing the feline being handled by staff before they remove it at Zeytin Veterinary Clinic in Orhangazi, Bursa Province, north-western Turkey, on July 22.
As soon as the carrier door is opened, the veterinary technician tries to hold the cat back, but the powerful feline struggles free and suddenly bolts across the treatment room, leaping from surface to surface as stunned veterinarian Talat Ergun and the technician scramble to catch it.
The cat suddenly springs several feet into the air, clambers onto a ceiling light fitting and dislodges it, leaving the treatment room without light.
Veterinary workers chase after the runaway animal as it bounces off walls, jumps onto high shelves and refuses to be caught.
Reports said the stray had been brought to the clinic for a routine sterilisation operation after being rescued from the streets.
Veterinary technician Gozde Genc said the incident was unlike anything she had experienced.
