Speculation over leadership challenge as Liberals continue to face ‘turmoil’ over Hastie exit

Sky News Political Editor Andrew Clennell discusses the Liberal Party’s “week of turmoil” after Andrew Hastie quit the frontbench.

Mr Clennell suggested there was “probably good reason” for Opposition leader Sussan Ley to be “spooked” by Mr Hastie and revealed an email he had sent to his constituents.

“It really does feel it is a matter of if rather than when the likes of Andrew Hastie and Angus Taylor challenge Sussan Ley for the leadership in this term – my suspicion is that could be next year,” he said.
