Son of Myanmar’s former leader calls for transparency after military releases proof-of-life photos


The son of detained former Myanmar leader Aung San Suu Kyi says his family now has “reason to hope” for the first time in years, after the military government granted her a humanitarian visit yesterday.

The ousted leader met with a representative from the International Committee of the Red Cross in what was the first confirmed outside contact with her since a letter to her son more than two years ago.
