Singapore PM says authorities need to ‘identify root cause’ of Optus outages

Singapore’s Prime Minister Lawrence Wong says Singtel will support the investigation of the recent Optus triple-zero outages.

“The company Optus and its parent company Singtel … we expect them to behave responsibly and to comply with domestic laws,” Mr Wong said.

“Singtel, as the parent company of Optus in this instance, will extend its full support to the independent investigation that is happening.

“I have no doubt that the company, together with the regulators and authorities here, will get to the bottom of this and identify the root cause and make sure something like that never happens again.”
