Severe weather warning in place for southwest Western Australia
Wild weather is expected to lash southern parts of Western Australia over the long weekend.
A strong cold front will sweep over south-western districts later today and overnight, bringing damaging to locally destructive wind gusts and periods of heavy rainfall.
The Bureau of Meteorology has described the system as “unusually strong and intense”.
Eight-metre swells are predicted offshore, while damaging surf conditions and abnormally high tides are expected between Gregory and Cape Naturaliste.
