Rome starts charging tourists to get a close look at the Trevi Fountain and other historic attractions in the ancient city.

The city of Rome introduced a 2‑euro ($3.40 AUD) visitors’ fee to access the viewing area of its iconic Trevi Fountain, which had previously been free to visit.
