Rockhampton’s Fitzroy River has been officially approved to host Olympic rowing and canoe sprint events for the 2032 Olympic Games. An independent assessment determined the venue can deliver safe and fair racing, despite months of opposition from hundreds of rowers and international officials. The IOC assessment confirmed the controversial site has passed all requirements.
