Rescuers make incredible discovery 10 days after devastating floods

A woman was pulled alive from a debris-buried house after being trapped for 10 days following devastating floods in Nepal, after her family had already begun mourning her presumed death.
Footage released by the Armed Police Force (APF) shows rescuers working through mud and debris before carrying the woman, identified as Chandika Kumari Shrestha, from the building in Betrawati, Nuwakot.
Shrestha, 64, was found on Saturday, September 5, after rescuers heard her calling for help from inside the collapsed four-storey house. Reuters reported that she had survived in a narrow pocket of air amid water and mud.
The rescue operation lasted about 45 minutes, according to Reuters. Shrestha had been missing since August 26, when devastating flooding struck the area, and was taken to an army hospital for treatment.
Her family had already begun an 11-day mourning period after believing she had died, Reuters reported.
