‘Really good idea’: Trump extends ‘olive branch’ to ensure World Cup is a success for America
The Washington Examiner White House Reporter Naomi Lim discusses the Trump administration’s exemption for some countries from a visa bond ahead of the FIFA World Cup.
The Trump administration will exempt football fans from 50 countries who were subject to a $US15,000 visa deposit requirement, providing they have valid match tickets.
“I think this is a really good idea,” Ms Lim told Sky News Senior Reporter Caroline Marcus.
“This is a huge opportunity for the States in terms of goodwill, internationally.
“This is a really good olive branch to make sure this event is a success.”
