Queenslanders are being urged to prepare for the severe weather season and its risk of flooding, fires and storms.
The advice has been issued as data from the Insurance Council of Australia shows losses from severe weather events has been climbing consistently since 1980.
It’s calling on the federal government to invest heavily in resilience infrastructure to help protect at risk communities.
