Qantas among 40 major companies caught in extortion threat
Qantas is one of 40 major companies entangled in a hacking extortion attempt.
The airline reportedly has just days to conduct ransom negotiations to avoid stolen customer data being released.
Technology giant Salesforce is the security business responsible for protecting the data of the threatened companies, which also include Disney, Toyota and IKEA.
The data was reportedly taken between April 2024 and September 2025.
