‘Preposterous, outrageous lie’: Liberals urged to ‘wake up’ to net zero debate

Former Queensland premier Campbell Newman urges the Liberal Party to “wake up to themselves” on the issue of net zero.

“Until the Liberal Party, and perhaps elements of the National Party still, wake up to themselves and prepare to actually go out and fight and make an argument, they’re not going to get anywhere,” Mr Newman told Sky News host Steve Price.

“They should be saying net zero is a preposterous, outrageous lie, it will not achieve anything in terms of climate … it is going to destroy Australia economically.”
