PM meets Bondi Beach hero in hospital
Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has visited Bondi Beach hero Ahmed al Ahmed in hospital. Posting to social media the PM wrote: “Ahmed, you are an Australian hero. You put yourself at risk to save others, running towards danger on Bondi Beach and disarming a terrorist. On behalf of every Australian, I say thank you.”
The gunman-tackling hero wounded in the Bondi massacre spoke earlier from hospital, expressing his medical hardships and asked his mother to pray for him. Ahmed al Ahmed spoke in Arabic as he wished good health on his well-wishers in the video translated and shared on social media by Turkish news agency TRT World. “I ask my mother, the apple of my eye, pray for me.
