‘Pay attention’: Albanese Government accused of internet censorship
On tonight’s episode of Paul Murray Live, News24 host Paul Murray warns the Albanese Government’s proposed $100 million penalties for social media companies could give authorities too much power over what Australians are allowed to view online.
“What is defined as harmful, well, of course, is in the eye of the beholder,” Mr Murray said.
“Please pay attention this week to the devil in the detail.
“Who gets to decide what the line of harmful is.
“I’m not saying the government shouldn’t draw a line, but where it draws the line is worth debating.”
