Pan Am plane wreckage found after 74 years | 7NEWS

The wreckage of Pan Am flight 526A has been discovered 600 metres below the ocean surface, 74 years after it crashed off the northern coast of Puerto Rico on Good Friday 1952.

The Douglas DC-4 aircraft sank in three minutes after two of its four engines failed, killing 52 people while 17 survived the crash and shark-infested waters. This tragic accident led to the mandatory in-flight safety briefings that are standard practice in aviation today.
