OpenAI issues ultimatum to Albanese government over copyright laws
OpenAI is warning it may hold back major investment in Australia unless the Albanese government changes its approach to copyright laws.
The company says Australia could become the first country outside the US to host its AI model training, but only if copyright settings are loosened.
The ultimatum coincides with Labor promoting AI as a major new source of economic growth.
Treasury estimates it could add $116 billion to GDP over the next decade.
