‘One side causing trouble’: ‘Violent thugs’ hospitalise police officers at protest

Violent protests in Melbourne saw clashes between far-left groups and police, resulting in injuries and multiple arrests.

Police utilised capsicum spray amidst chaos, with incidents of violent actions against officers, contrasting with peace from the opposing protesting group.

“Violent scenes in Melbourne today as far-left protest groups clashed with police, leaving two officers injured,” Senior Reporter Caroline Marcus said.

“They made clear there was one side who was causing trouble.

“There’s an irony that many people within these groups call themselves anti-racists, anti-fascists, they’re the ones acting like violent thugs though.”
