A four-hour police and Department of Transport blitz at Perth Airport inspected 100 taxis and rideshare vehicles, finding nearly 20% were unroadworthy and immediately removed from service. The operation also uncovered drivers operating without proper identification, fare displays, and one driver over the legal blood alcohol limit. Additional offences included fare gouging and drivers refusing to use meters, raising serious safety concerns for passengers using these services.
