NSW considers using AI to judge traffic fines
The New South Wales government is considering a controversial plan to use artificial intelligence to automatically issue traffic fines without human review, in a move critics say bears the hallmarks of the robo-debt debacle.
Under the radical proposal from Transport for NSW, AI technology would take full control of seatbelt and mobile phone detection cameras across the state, removing the human element entirely from the fine-issuing process.
