No NYE celebrations as Russia-Ukraine war continues
There were no public New Year celebrations in Kyiv, as many Ukrainians enter another calendar year at war.
The lights in Kyiv’s Independence Square were dimmed as air raid sirens broke the silence.
Moscow’s Red Square was also silent on New Year’s Eve as authorities in several Russian regions have cancelled firework displays.
