A harrowing double tragedy struck Los Angeles on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, when an NBC4 news helicopter crashed while covering a fatal Metro bus collision in the Chatsworth neighborhood. The aircraft went down just before 7:00 PM on the 9100 block of North Mason Avenue, slamming into shipping containers and parked vehicles between two commercial buildings before bursting into flames. The crash claimed three lives—including at least one bystander on the ground—and sent others to local hospitals.
