National Land Council Chair calls for royal commission into systemic racism
National Land Council Chair Matthew Ryan said there’s been “a lot of talk” when it comes to dealing with the systemic racism faced by Indigenous Australians.
“I’ve come to Garma before, same old talk — a lot of talk, not enough engagement, not enough improvement. Health, education, and housing hasn’t improved. Still, today.” Ryan said.
Ryan said a royal commission was needed.
“For a long time we weren’t heard. We want to be heard,” he said.
