‘Blocked’: Single woman walks out on first date after two minutes for shocking reason
A small Aussie town has been left shaken by a mysterious heist, sparking wild theories of how the brazen theft unfolded.
Lake Macquarie Council launched a public appeal after 23 giant sandstone blocks, each weighing 1100 kilograms, were stolen from The Esplanade in Speers Point in December.
The slabs, measuring two metres long and 50 centimetres high, were put in place at a football field just five months ago to prevent residents from parking on the grass.
The mysterious disappearance has now ignited speculation within the small town, as locals remain baffled over the brazen crime.
Due to the weight of the blocks, it’s unlikely that the robbery was done without the use of machinery.
But, locals whose houses sit just metres away from the scene of the crime, say they didn’t see or hear a thing.
Council Manager Assets Dayne Harris said it would have taken a team of people equipped with at least one truck and lifting equipment to remove so many blocks.
