Facebook parent company Meta has agreed to pay more than $23 billion to settle claims it deliberately designed Facebook and Instagram to be addictive to young people whilst knowing about potential harms. A controversial Callaway golf advertisement has been pulled after showing a male golfer shoving a female former division one professional golfer to the ground. New algorithm-based social clubs are emerging that match strangers based on shared interests, careers and lifestyles, with some charging nearly $40 per month.
