Major search underway for missing crewman in Port Phillip Bay | 7NEWS
A crew member in his 30s has gone missing from a Liberian oil tanker in Port Phillip Bay, with the disappearance reported at 8:30pm after the vessel departed Port Melbourne at 5pm. An extensive search operation involving Police Airwing, Australian Maritime Safety Authority, Air Ambulance, Volunteer Marine Rescue and Coast Guard is covering a wide area from the heads to Point Nepean and Point Lonsdale. Authorities are uncertain whether the man fell overboard or failed to board the ship initially.
