More than 300 trees will be cut down in Macleod to make way for the Ruthven Street Rail Bridge construction. Local residents have protested against the state government, claiming they were never informed about the extent of tree removal. The government defends the project, stating the level crossing removal will reduce boom gate downtime by approximately 30 minutes during morning peak hours.
