Lionel Messi becomes all-time leading goal scorer at the FIFA World Cup
More chapters in football history are being written at the FIFA World Cup, as Lionel Messi became the competition’s all-time leading scorer.
After equalling the record in Argentina’s first match, Messi bagged a brace against Austria to set a new record of 18 goals. He could have had another goal, if not for a missed penalty.
The victory confirms the defending champions’ place in the round of 32.
