Leaving MAGA: Why Some Trump Supporters Are Walking Away | Trump’s America Ep 4
Donald Trump inspires a level of devotion rarely seen in politics. In the final episode of Trump’s America, 9News US Correspondent Reid Butler travels from the Missouri Ozarks to San Francisco to find out what, and who, Americans choose to believe in.
In Clinton, Missouri, Carolyn tells Reid she believes Trump will be the last president before the rapture. In Branson, a town with three stores dedicated to the President, faith and politics have become impossible to separate. In San Francisco, the head of the city’s Republican Club says Trump is always ten steps ahead.
But not everyone’s faith is holding. Former supporters, including Leaving MAGA founder Rich Logis, explain why they walked away. And with algorithms, echo chambers and conspiracy theories blurring what’s real, Reid asks whether a country this divided can still find common ground.
