Labor’s new aged care assessments have some ‘good bones’ within structure
COTA Australia Deputy Chief Executive Officer Corey Irlam reveals how older Australians can get assessed properly to see what they are eligible for in “tricky situations”.
“Often you can ask for a reconsideration of that assessment by going back to the person who did the assessment,” Mr Irlam told Sky News host Steve Price.
“If you’re still not happy with that, you can go through an independent review by the department.
“There are now some decisions of government that can be reviewed by the Administration Review Tribunal, and that’s a new thing.
“Everybody is trying to learn it and try to get it right.”
