King Charles’ historic Vatican visit ‘overshadowed’ by Prince Andrew controversy
The Daily Mirror Royal Editor Russell Myers says King Charles’ “historic” trip to the Vatican has been “overshadowed” by the controversy surrounding Prince Andrew.
“What the palace tried to do last week was certainly draw a line under it, but it’s done anything but,” Mr Myers told Sky News host Danica De Giorgio.
“What we’ve had is four or five days of front page headlines, commentary about the finances of the Royal Family.
“Very, very unwelcome news for Buckingham Palace and the King, and the commentary surrounding the visit to the Vatican, which was meant to be this huge, momentous historic event, was overshadowed.”
