Jimmy Kimmel calls out Trump in return episode
Comedian Jimmy Kimmel called on Americans to unite for free speech as he returned to late-night television after a short-lived suspension.
Kimmel said US President Donald Trump’s policies are “anti-American” for trying to cancel late-night shows hosted by other comedians, such as Stephen Colbert, Jimmy Fallon, and Seth Meyers.
He also accused the Trump administration of suppressing journalism after a new memo sought to restrict reporting at the Pentagon.
“They want to pick and choose what the news is. I know that’s not as interesting as muzzling a comedian, but it’s so important to have a free press, and it is nuts that we aren’t paying more attention to it.” Kimmel said.
