Britain, France and Canada are among a dozen countries who have announced plans to block imports from Israeli settlements in the occupied West Bank.
Israel responded swiftly by saying it will close Britain’s consulate in East Jerusalem within 30 days and impose travel bans on some British officials.
Israel has established more than 580 settlements and outposts in the West Bank, fragmenting Palestinian territory.
Experts say Israel’s latest settlement plants would make a two-state solution virtually impossible.
