Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu testifies at his corruption trial

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is testifying in his corruption trial despite the country’s military launching strikes at various countries in the Middle East.

US President Donald Trump has called on Israel to stop attacking Syria.

“It is very important that Israel maintain a strong and true dialogue with Syria, and that nothing takes place that will interfere with Syria’s evolution into a prosperous State,” President Trump said.

Benjamin Netanyahu requests a pardon from the corruption trial, claiming the trial is politically motivated.

The situation is exacerbated by ongoing anti-terror operations and Israeli strikes in Lebanon and Syria, risking further regional destabilisation.
