The conflict between Israel and Hezbollah has continued on the ground despite a US-backed truce extension.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Israeli forces had crossed the Litani River and established what he described as controlling positions north of the river.
Israel says it is preparing for potential attacks from Lebanon.
According to the Israeli military, ground operations are expanding in southern Lebanon.
