Israel and Lebanon hold direct talks for the first time in 30 years | ABC NEWS
Israel and Lebanon have agreed to hold direct negotiations after talks in Washington mediated by US Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
The meeting marked the first high-level, direct talks between the two countries in decades.
Lebanon’s president says he hopes the talks will “mark the beginning of the end” of his country’s suffering, while the Israeli ambassador says both countries are “united in liberating Lebanon” from Hezbollah.
